Creation

When my second son, Patrick, was about 11 or 12 years old he got in trouble with his English teacher. Pat has always been an inquisitive and empathic soul. He has always desired to know the why’s, how’s and what’s of everything.

Now imagine this call from the school: “Patrick has been disrespectful to me today and I won’t stand for it any longer. I need you to come in and have a meeting with me and the principal.”

Next morning I was there with Patrick and the teachers. I had already heard what had happened from him. Mrs. Hernandez was pregnant and only a month away from giving birth.

“Patrick looked at me yesterday and in the middle of class asked me how it felt to have someone inside of me.”

I explained that Pat was fascinated with her pregnancy. He had watched the miracle of life every day and her stomach growing. What he intended to say, which he failed to do, was ask how it felt to have a new life inside of her stomach. My son sat there and shared deeply with the principal and teacher. Their eyes watered as he went on to discuss the beauty of being a woman, the power of giving life to this world, and the exquisiteness of creation.

It wasn’t pornographic as she thought. It was fantastic to see a young man wonder about the human body and the miracle of creation. He shared that “this miracle is something men will never get to experience. My mother had me and my brother and she adopted 4 more children because her body couldn’t make anymore babies…. We are all miracles because of women.”

I have never forgotten that moment sitting in that school at 7am. When I see a pregnant woman I always think of my son (and he’s 34 y/o). And I think daily of the amazing creators that we are even if we don’t give birth to a child.

We are magical beings. We have the power to hold divinity within us. And not just in birthing children, but in creating a life through authentic purpose. We are magnificent at constructing dreams and supporting others through love. We are mothers, daughters, teachers and lovers of the world. And together we are rising to make the world a better place for those we leave behind.

I love you!

Millie

The Canvas

There is a composition unlike any other
in perfect harmony
that only its artist could create,
without duplication,
stipulation,
colored to perfection.
This is the canvas of my soul,
in hues of purple and pink,
with hints of mint and greens
splashed to run against the light.
There is a sanctuary
upon the curves and lengths of its frame,
so full of imagery,
of love,
of a silent language spoken from the heart.
There is an arrangement of places,
among the horizon
that landscape the shapes,
shades,
mosaic of my thoughts.
There are feelings covering its values
and depth painted in the chromatic of truth
proportionally expressing all there is.
And, somewhere in its tones
there is undeniably the casting of faith
grasping to the atmosphere swimming
in a composition of integrity and serenity.
This is the canvas of my spirit,
with all its illustration,
a Renaissance of antiquities,
that lies deeply only in me
while the Creator watches
and smiles at His one-and-only masterpiece.

The Connection

Words are uttered onto a page

like waves gently sliding into shore –

this is my terrain

allowing the flow of emotions without hesitation.

Injunction, introduction, information and imitation

of all that lies within

through cautiousness and clarity

while consenting to the beauty of each sound

and sketching it neatly

on the script.

Sleek and slender symmetry of lines

crossing in and out

while a cursor leads the way

confessing a truth to who I am.

With each character drawn onto the page

syllables flow into a conjunction of rhythm

parading into adjectives, nouns, verbs and such.

And, then magic happens as a connection

between the word and the reader

become one

through eloquence of language

manipulated with effortless control

while letters dance around to create

one sentence,

another,

and then…an end

to a story that now engages

you

and me

for just a little while.

A Mystical Journey Indeed

mystical experiences

When I started this blog, Moments With Millie, I never imagined that a few short years later I would have the amount of love and support from so many people. I never saw my writing as anything but a means to detach from all that was going on in my journey here on earth. My life has changed drastically. At the time I was co-owner of a small retreat center/motel snuggled in the mountains of Western North Carolina. I am no longer managing that beautiful place. During the past few years I was gifted a husband and a baby girl, adding her to the other six children who call me “Mom.” Change is magical and it’s constantly evolving and teaching me to grow spiritually, emotionally and physically. It was time to give my page the face lift it deserved with all that has been emerging in my wonderful mystical journey.

There is more to come. I feel giddy with each shift and creation in the expansion of awareness in my travels here.  There is a consistent evolution of soul through faith, grace, belief, and enchanting occurrences that appear when I let go of fear, anxiety and expectations. Freedom arrives and it’s non-descriptive.  It’s all about trusting my authentic power.  Everything I thought I knew is now null and void.  I am starting from scratch walking on intuition and Source.

So…please grab a chair, sit and dive into my humor, stories, lessons, and magnificent experiences that make us all human.  You are not alone in your own lessons.  Thank you for stopping by and for the continuous support from all over the world. Good times ahead!

Mucho love…Millie

You are the greatest Alchemist

Spiritual practice, movement of energy, shifting vibration, prayer, meditation, walking, and journaling are all a few examples of manifesting with intent.  That which we think does become.  In most cases, if we look at past events, we can see that the doing was not the complete outcome of our desires.  Intention was pushing the wishes all along.  The action came after the thought.  Of course, we can have the most magical intentions in the world, but if we don’t put them to work, they will also not take us very far.

Often times we experience what we don’t want.  We live out our fears.  We place thoughts, doubts, anxieties, negativity and create those events.  Shifting awareness and thoughts create a different outcome.  We really are what we think!  It sounds like some over-used cliché but it is the truth.  Holding space for your words, be it through morning prayers, journaling, or just sitting alone is a way to alter the vibration of your thoughts.  Being present as often as possible creates a magnetic ripple of delicious effects.

I have been to places with a negative person who is constantly in the “woe is me” state of being. It seems that no matter how much I try to bring lightness and joy into the conversation that person can turn anything into darkness.  I have gone to eat at this restaurant a hundred times before and have always been treated with friendliness and southern hospitality.  Now I sit with this person and immediately the service is horrible.  The waitress forgets us, brings out the wrong food, and the food tastes horrible.  What changed?  It is the same thing I always eat.  Energy shifted!  I didn’t honor my food before it arrived because I was in a whirlwind of negative emotions.  I was holding this person’s dreadful negativity in the car, entering the restaurant, and sitting with at the table.  Intention is force, spirit, intensity, and projection.  I stopped being me and took on this person’s emotions.  My head began to hurt, my body felt attacked, therefore my food ended the cycle of these vibrations.  I call these folks emotional vampires.  They create chaos everywhere they go.

There’s an old saying that if you want success surround yourself with successful people.  Why is that?  Because the energy they bring to you is contagious.  You begin to feel successful.  Your thoughts change from “I can’t” to “I am successful.”  The simple intent of being in that energy pushes forth the desires, wishes and manifestations.  Any intention, loaded with love and kindness (especially for yourself) will manifest beautiful results. “When intent is rooted in pure love, your dreams will grow and manifest faster than you could ever imagine.”~ Dawn Gluskin.

Ask any successful individual what they believe.  They will tell you that they would not settle for anything less.  They “knew” that success was in them; that “knowing” will transform and align you with universal wisdom.  I have also noticed that successful people, who have reached their potential with integrity, are happy individuals.  They have allowed the lessons to guide them.  They have not quit at the first barricade of failure.  They have hurdled right over the wall with certainty and humor.  Happiness, joy, and laughter will always change your mood.  I love people who can laugh at themselves.  I admire their tenacity and sense of worth and their complete gratitude for everything.  Their intention is to live their truth and this is what carries them through their manifestation.   I have also noticed that they live out a mantra.  They repeat these words on a daily basis.  They know the power of thoughts!

Success is in each one of us.  We create it with our desires. The secret to traveling the road to all your desires is intention: the intent to do good, be good, share the good and be grateful for having it.  The simple act of voicing your intentions, writing them down, sharing them with spirit, is the foundation of the outcome.  We are the co-creators of our lives.  Be aware of thoughts, words, and the power of your beliefs.  Each thought is connected to another through the greatness of your spirit.  You are a master shifter.  Use that power wisely!

Aspire to Inspire

aspire to inspire

Every time I visit a certain facility I come across this sweet woman with dementia who never remembers me. I pop into her room because she’s so lovely. Her hair is always up with sparkling clips. She is just darling. I sit with her and she tells me her story over and over. A lot of times I finish the sentences for her…and she becomes like a little girl watching a magician, “You must be psychic. How do you know that?” I tell her that I do have an ability of sorts while I giggle at her joy.
Sometimes I wonder who left me in charged of “adulting.” I don’t know how to be an adult today…or tomorrow. I don’t know how I got to middle age when my mind feels like I am in my twenties. I look at this sweet soul and think she also believes she’s thirty something. It’s in those moments of honoring her stories and her essence that I recognize mirror parts of myself. I will have those stories later in life when I share about lovers, my children, and nonsense. I will probably give way too many inappropriate details and the facility will have me on some blacklist of avoiding conversations with anyone. So for now I rejoice the moments of loving. Love is contagious. We must rise to the occasion of aspiring spirits to inspire us. We must take the best out of them and cherish their stories. It’s in those stories that we can foresee how ours may end. Have a blessed day, sweet souls. GO create some magic!

Love is the ALL

love is abssence

Moments are the connections to life’s journey.  They are the process of all there is in some magical dance between synchronicity and love.  Each second connects into another.  Our own connection pulls and tugs to intertwine with each other.  By being aware of each moment we can join, partake, and openly participate in this creation of life.  That’s all there is: the taking of good, bad, and surrendering to it all.  We co-create the stories while allowing things to come and go, passing through the process of time and space.  Afterwards, when the stories are too much, the drama is too stale, and the tragic of not being at peace is maddening, we blame the universal forces for our participation in this co-creation.   We detach and close off from the universal element of love.

Love has no judgment, no agenda, no bias, no bigotry….  Love is love without a concrete definition.  It lets go of boundaries, walls, and inhibitions.  Love is effortless.  In relationships it does require work, but it’s just a rhythmic dance of ease and grace.  It devours intimacy by accepting and not holding back any of our insecurities.  Love doesn’t push.  It opens and breathes peace and trust.  It is raw and compassionate and all that is of God.  Love is accepting of another without judgment of your own self.  It brings you into a place of complete surrender.  It allows light into the darkest of places.

I have always believed that love is the only emotion we are born with that’s imprinted in our chromosomes.  We arrive into this world in love, with love, embraced by the Oneness of the Divine.  It is when our environment infuses all the other “learned emotions” that we become distant from the truth of love.  We begin to complicate love with our agendas and traumatic experiences of lack.  We aren’t good enough.  We are not worth enough.  We are this and we are that.  Those beliefs are intergraded into our own hearts.  But truth be known, love doesn’t care.  Every other emotion lives in our head.   Love is the only one that lives in our heart…in Spirit.  Love is the union of mind, body and spirit in a way that contributes to all that the universe has created.   Love is about being Divine.  With or without another to partake in the journey, the moments of true peace are those when the heart is open and the light of God shines through.

Even while understanding this in theory it is still difficult at times to feel love and compassion for people and things out of our life path.  Because we learn by the experiences from our culture, race, and other social or environmental classes, it seems that judgment takes over way before love.  I am constantly reminding myself that each person who appears in my life is for me to learn something about love and compassion.  It isn’t always easy when others have so much hatred and anger.  But, what if being tolerant and patient in the beginning (while interacting with these folks) starts opening their hearts?  What if in the presence of those rough exteriors we can shift the energy to allow their sprits to feel the love they came with into this world? What would the world look like if we lowered our shields and began to show the light of Divinity? I believe that one day in the future we will have only one faith, one religion and one path towards unlimited compassion.  That day will be when love is all we embody.  It is then that we will be one with the Divine.  Nothing else will matter because as our famous John sang with openness: “all you need is love…love…love.  Love is all you need.”

“One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life: that word is love.” – Sophocles
