The Compass

road-sun-rays-path

Yesterday I had a huge challenge appear in my path. I was expecting it for some time. I knew it would cause a halt on the journey or at least a major detour. But, like all things when it finally appears you are frazzled by its presence. The knowing doesn’t even matter. It becomes a void of doubt, shame and guilt. Immediately I sat back and took a deep breath. The first person I could think of reaching out was my husband and I knew what he would say. He’s my husband. He would want me to do whatever felt right for me. The second person was my eldest son. At almost 30, he is wise beyond his years. We were both working so I texted him briefly. I gave him the condensed version.

I asked him to please answer what I should do without me being his mother. I wanted his honest answer without thinking of me as this woman who thinks she needs to save the world. He came back with a quick long answer. Immediately he took a step out of the family circle and answered the question without a single sense of being my son. He was a man. His opinions were defined by how he’s been raised. After his answer I asked him to then remember I was his mother.

He paused. I could see the (…) dancing on the screen. And then he answered with such love and compassion that I broke into a pool of tears. He asked me to stop. He asked me to also follow my heart. He asked me to go into my sacred space and ask for divine wisdom, but to please take my heart and hold it in my hands, caressing it and loving it the way I love him and others.

My son showed up as a compassionate and amazing guru and I forgot all about the dilemma/life changing event that had appeared in my path. The lesson turned into something magnificent and delightful. I needed the reminder. I had to truly get back on the right path.

He thanked me for teaching him to step back and look before reacting, reminding me that I forget myself along the way. I forget to count myself as a blessing. Hours later he called me to make sure I was okay and I thanked him through sobs. I told him that he had saved me from taking a detour into the thickness of a dark forest.

In the end…that is all we want. We want someone to be our compass when we get lost. Mostly we want to know that another soul understands us so well that we don’t have to feel along when hardships show up.

Have a beautiful day!

Freedom

freedomOkay, let’s start today finding inner freedom through strength and wisdom. Follow your divine guidance. You do not live in a prison…except for the thoughts you carry and entertain. Set them free. At any given time you have the choice to see the light or the darkness. Which one will you choose?

Level of Awareness

Don’t get angry or frustrated with someone because they don’t think like you. Everyone is on their own spiritual path even when they aren’t consciously aware of their evolution. They are coming from their own place of beliefs and perception. It’s hard to understand and accept at times but, I promise you, that in each of us there is a reason we think the way we do. It is childhood programming, based on beliefs and traumas, or experiences. We are all on our own unique paths. This is what makes diversity!

Making Gracious Decisions

soup

A friend and co-worker yesterday came into my office in the morning, “Hey, girl, I brought us soup for lunch. My mother made a huge pot and I wanted you to have some with me later.” I was deeply grateful. Such loveliness and she’s just amazing.

Lunch time arrived and she heated a pot with the soup and called me when it was ready. I got my giant bowl, in full gratitude, as it smelled delicious. As I sat down with the first spoonful I saw the peas. Now, for those who don’t know this, I hate peas. It’s the only vegetable that I cannot even entertain. I am usually pretty graceful about taking them out but the soup was full of them. (Had it been split-pea soup I would’ve had no problem because they would have been blended). There, in my bowl was a pool of them surrounded by other veggies that I do like. I was so touched by her gesture that I took a giant spoon and swallowed those suckers along with a huge smile while patting my heart. The first bites were painful and I became aware of all the textures in my mouth. I tried not to gag on my own thought because it was truly a yummy soup. I was forever present in that experience. With each mouthful I gave gratitude and love to her and her mother for sharing their meal with me. I am forever astonished at how those peas stopped being an issue and I ate every bit of that bowl.

Here is the thing: we might not like what we are served at all times, but we have a choice in seeing the generous heart or lesson behind it. We can pick and choose what we want out of a situation. We can respect those around us who mean well in their beliefs and choices. We don’t have to like it, but we can choose to swallow it with love and light. Life is about making gracious decisions without hurting others intentionally. Life is a kaleidoscope of experiences, obstacles, challenges that join us to one another. Today is peas, tomorrow is something larger. My actions speak volumes through my reactions. And so do yours!

The ALL of YOU

spiritual moment

The “you” that you believe you are has nothing to do with your personality. Yes, how you react becomes a reaction. How you act becomes the action. But the you that you are is a soul consisting of divine essence. You get to choose the thoughts. You become those choices. If it doesn’t work, change. If you can’t stay, move. You are not a tree rooted deeply in the earth. You have will. You have choices. You have the conscious power to do anything. It is definitely easier said than done but start somewhere. You are the infinite you that has lived and will continue to live pass this moment. Your love, achievements, failures and every aspect of the ego have made you the human version that you think you are. But, you are much more than this. You are a super consciousness that has evolved to love beyond everything else. You are the change you crave to see in this world. It starts with the real YOU. Go do something with that. Embrace that YOU that is waiting acknowledgment. And begin to witness the miracles happen before you. You are limitless, perfection, pure Divinity and love. You are God. You are Oneness. There is no separation. You have created a belief programming that assures lacking rather than abundance. Today, know your Dharma. Remember your truth. Stop retelling the stories of the past.  They brought you here but do not make for the future events.  You get to pick the path, you get to trail blaze the future, and you get to manifest all that you want. Be the magnificent self that you intended to be when you arrived here. We are born knowing all…somewhere along the way we forget our reality. Along the process we have been conditioned to “fit in,” be “normal,” and adhere to to social status.  This is NOT WHO YOU ARE. You are ALL!  You are the grace of Christ, the embodiment of God, the Oneness of the universe.  You got this! No one else can do this for you but YOU! Now…go do some amazing things today with your authentic self. See how freaking AWEsome you will feel!
